On 8 September 2022 – the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), organized “Wai Kru and Strap Presentation Ceremony, Academic Year 2022” for 3rd and 4th year students of its B. Sc. in Information and Communication Technology (ICT International Program). On this occasion, Dr. Pawitra Liamruk, Deputy Dean for Academic Administration and Acting Deputy Dean for Organizational Communication and Engagement, as a representative of the Dean, presided over the ceremony which was attended by many ICT Mahidol instructors, executives and students at the Grand Auditorium, 4th floor, ICT Building, Salaya Campus, as well as via Webex Meetings.
Dr. Pawitra Liamruk began the ceremony by lighting incense and candles to honor the Triple Gems. She then greeted all students, and presented the Academic Excellence Badges for Academic Year 2021 to students with GPA’s of 4.00. Following that, the student representatives delivered speeches and flowers to express their gratitude towards the instructors. Respectively, a strap presentation, as well as a wrist binding ceremony were held to welcome the students. Finally, the executives, faculty members, and students sang the Mahidol song together.
The “Wai Kru Ceremony” aimed to give students opportunities to show respect to their instructors, to foster good relationships between faculty members and students so that instructors are ready to transfer knowledge to students and shape them to achieve their educational goals, and to promote and preserve Thai traditions.
