During 13 – 17 July 2022, the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), participated in the RoboCup 2022 to exhibit its works and research. Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, the Dean, joined the opening ceremony which was attended by Mr. Chaiwut Thanakmanusorn, Minister of Digital Economy and Society, Dr. Danuch Tanterdtid, Vice Minister of the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation. Aside from that, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jackrit Suthakorn, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University and Prof. Dr. Wachira Kochakan, Vice President for Human Resource Development, Mahidol University also participated in the ceremony at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center (BITEC), Bangkok.
ICT Mahidol exhibited 2 work on Artificial Intelligence (AI) as follows:
- “PSIMILAN: A data processing and visualization system for PSychological Impact on Mental health using LArge-scale social Networks” by Prof. Dr. Suppawong Tuarob and team. This research project won the 1st place under the Artificial Intelligence Application category from the 23rd National Software Contest 2021, held by National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation
- “Virtual Training in Needle Insertion during Internal Jugular Vein Catheterization” by Asst. Prof. Dr. Mores Prachyabrued, Prof. Dr. Peter Fereed Haddawy and team
“RoboCup 2022” is a global robotics competition organized by the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, together with 16 other network partners. The event consisted of 2 main types of competitions: 4 Major Leagues; RoboCupSoccer, RoboCupRescue, RoboCup@Home and RoboCupIndustrial, as well as Junior League (RoboCupJunior: RCJ) for young people aged 14 to 19. In addition, there was also a forum to showcase innovative robotic inventions.
In this regard, the Faculty of ICT would like to express our appreciation to the following individuals for their contributions to this event; first, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jackrit Suthakorn, Dean of Mahidol University’s Faculty of Engineering for inviting us to participate in the exhibition, second, Assoc. Asst. Prof. Dr. Suppawong Tuarob, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mores Prachyabrued, and Prof. Dr. Peter Fereed Haddawy for allowing us to exhibit their works at the exhibition, last, the ICT Mahidol students who assisted in presenting the research works to those who attended the event.
