ICT Mahidol welcomed delegates from the University of Exeter, United Kingdom, on the occasion of their visit and academic collaboration meeting

On June 25, 2024, Dr. Tipajin Thaipisutikul, Assistant Dean for Academic Services and Technology Transfer, along with Asst. Prof. Dr. Mores Prachyabrued, Instructor of the Computer Science Academic Group; Mr. Thanin Rabiabpho, a Ph.D. student in Computer Science; Mr. Tamakorn Jiamrachada, Computer Technical Officer; and staff from the International Relations Division, welcomed the delegates from the University of Exeter, United Kingdom. The meeting, held in Room IT122, 1st floor, the ICT Building, Mahidol University, Salaya, marked a significant occasion for academic discussions and potential research collaboration. Topics covered included student exchange programs, online research seminars, and partnerships on various research projects, such as the ai applications in social sciences and environmental sustainability.

The delegation included:

  • Professor Richard Follett, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Global
  • Professor Li Li, Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Global Engagement / Professor in Applied Linguistics and Language Education
  • Mark Elliott, Regional Head South-East Asia, Global Partnerships

During the visit, staff from the Organizational Communications Department guided the Exeter delegates to explore the learning facilities of the Faculty, such as the Bits and Bytes Hall, Mahidol University AI Center, Smart Classrooms, and the Mahidol-Bremen Medical Informatics Research Unit (MIRU). The delegates received insights from Asst. Prof. Dr. Mores Prachyabrued and Mr. Thanin Rabiabpho about the research projects at the MIRU Lab. Additionally, they visited the IoT Laboratory guided by Mr. Tamakorn Jiamrachada, Computer Technical Officer from the Technology Infrastructure Department.
