ICT Mahidol welcomed delegates from the Commonwealth of Australia on the occasion of their research and academic visit, and delivered a special talk on “Uncovering Hidden Challenges: Designing Data-Driven Solutions for Real-World Software Engineering”

On June 25, 2024, the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (ICT Mahidol), led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Thanwadee Sunetnanta, Asst. Prof. Dr. Morakot Choetkiertikul, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Chaiyong Ragkhitwetsagul, along with Lect. Pattaraporn Sangaroonsilp and instructors from the Computer Science Group, as well as the Software Engineering and Business Analytics Research Clusters (SEBA), welcomed Dr. Chakkrit Tantithamthavorn, Senior Lecturer in Software Engineering from the Faculty of Information Technology at Monash University, and Dr. Patanamon Thongtanunam, Senior Lecturer from the School of Computing and Information Systems at the University of Melbourne, Commonwealth of Australia. The occasion marked their academic visit and discussions on Software Engineering research collaboration, held in Room A1 of the ICT Building, Mahidol University, Salaya.

Additionally, delegates from Australia discussed the possibility of sending ICT Mahidol students to pursue a Master of Software Engineering (MC-SOFTENG) at the University of Melbourne, Australia, with Dr. Pawitra Liamruk, Program Chair of the B.Sc. in Information and Communication Technology (ICT International Program) at ICT Mahidol.

In the afternoon, a special lecture titled “Uncovering Hidden Challenges: Designing Data-Driven Solutions for Real-World Software Engineering” was delivered by Dr. Patanamon Thongtanunam. The lecture focused on effective problem-solving in software engineering practices such as Agile Planning, Code Reviews, and Code Integration. Faculty members and students of Mahidol University attended this session in Room IT210, both in person and online via Webex Meetings.

Finally, Dr. Chakkrit Tantithamthavorn and Dr. Patanamon Thongtanunam also discussed future collaboration directions with Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, Dean of the Faculty of ICT, to at the Dean’s Office, ICT Building.
