ICT Mahidol organized training program “Enhancing ICT Skills for Sriyapai School Students, Chumphon Province”

On January 10, 2025, the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), in collaboration with Sriyapai School, Chumphon Province, organized the training program titled “Enhancing ICT Skills for Sriyapai School Students, Chumphon Province” for junior high school students. The opening ceremony was presided over by Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, Dean of the Faculty of ICT, who delivered a welcoming speech at the Innovative Space on the 1st floor of the ICT building, Salaya. On this occasion, Asst. Prof. Dr. Tipajin Thaipisutikul, Assistant Dean for Academic Services and Technology Transfer and teachers from Sriyapai School were also present.

This training program is part of Sriyapai School’s Science Math Technology (SMT) Academic Camp, aimed at integrating ICT into teaching and learning processes. It focuses on digital educational tools, online learning platforms, and enhancing students’ knowledge in ICT-related areas such as computer usage, office software, safe internet practices, and technology for research. The program also emphasizes systematic thinking through Project-Based and Problem-Based learning, encouraging students to develop ICT skills, problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking.

The program was held from January 9–11, 2025, at the ICT Mahidol building, Salaya , with 59 students participating. The activities included the following:

  • Thursday, January 9, 2025
    • Campus Tour at Mahidol University, Salaya. Teachers and students from Sriyapai School visited the Sireeruckhachati Nature Learning Park. They participated in the “Exploring Plant Species with Mobile Applications” activity, guided by Asst. Prof. Dr. Ananta Srisuphab, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Piyanuch Silapachote, Instructors in the Computer Science Group. The session included an introduction to plant species within the park and hands-on experience using mobile applications such as Google Lens, PlantNet, and Seek by iNaturalist to identify plant species.
  • Friday, January 10, 2025
    • Training Session: “Prompt Engineering for Everyone,” conducted by Asst. Prof. Dr. Tipajin Thaipisutikul, Assistant Dean for Academic Services and Technology Transfer. This session introduced basic usage of ChatGPT, including writing effective prompts, summarizing YouTube content, summarizing articles, creating tailored content for specific audiences, translation, creating test systems, and developing games like Tic-Tac-Toe using ChatGPT.
    • Workshop: “Shaping Young Citizen Scientists in Energy and Environmental Studies,” led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Patompong Saengwilai from the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science, Mahidol University. This workshop provided insights into biodiversity and a demonstration of the iNaturalist application. Participants explored and documented plant species around the ICT building.
