ICT Mahidol Dean participated in the “QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2024” in Macau Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China

From November 5–7, 2024, Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, Dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology at Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), represented the President of Mahidol University at the “QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2024,” themed “Shifting Landscapes, Collaborative Solutions: Pioneering Innovation in Asia Pacific Higher Education” at Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) in Macau Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China. As part of the event, Dr. Pattanasak hosted an exhibition to promote Mahidol University, showcasing the university’s academic and research strengths and fostering collaborations with leading global institutions.

Additionally, on November 6, Dr. Pattanasak participated in a panel discussion titled “The Virtual Exchange: Collaborative Research Without Borders.” He shared insights on the virtual exchange platforms can revolutionize collaborative research in higher education by encouraging international partnerships and overcoming geographical barriers, leading to richer research experiences and more impactful outcomes. This panel will explore the growing potential of borderless exchange platforms to transform how academics in Asia Pacific conduct research.

The “QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2024” was co-organized by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) and Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST). QS, known for analyzing and collecting insights on global higher education, also produces the QS World University Rankings, ranking over 1,000 universities worldwide. The summit aimed to provide a platform for university representatives from the Asia-Pacific region to exchange knowledge on higher education development and stay updated on the latest movements in global university rankings.
