ICT Mahidol in collaboration with the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa) organized the “Future Digital Skill for Workforce: Python for Business Intelligence and Analytics”

On August 1-2, 2024, the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), in collaboration with the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa), organized the “Future Digital Skill for Workforce: Python for Business Intelligence and Analytics.” The training was attended by 56 participants, including students and the general public. On this occasion, Mr. Kitti Koonsanit, Head of Digital Service and Platform Promotion, depa, welcomed the participants. Following that, Mr. Ittipon Pliansart, Group Vice President, Department, Human Resource and Resource Management, introduced the organizational and human resource management division of the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa). Additionally, Dr. Tipajin Thaipisutikul, Assistant Dean for Academic Services and Technology Transfer, and Dr. Siripen Pongpaichet, Assistant Dean for Information and Systems, served as instructors sharing their knowledge at the computer lab IT105, 1st floor, ICT Mahidol, Salaya.

On the first day, the training covered the topic “Foundations of Python for Analytics and Data Preprocessing,” providing basic knowledge on Python for Business Intelligence, such as Data Wrangling with Python, Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) with Python, and Introduction to Python Visuals in Power BI. On the second day, the training covered the topic “Microsoft Power BI Desktop for Business Intelligence,” which provided advanced knowledge on using Microsoft Power BI, including Advanced Data Manipulation with Power Query, Data Modeling Fundamentals, Introduction to DAX for Advanced Data Analysis, and The Art of Insight Generation: Asking the Right Questions.

The Future Digital Skill for Workforce program, with the course “Python for Business Intelligence and Analytics,” aimed to elevate the digital skills (Future Digital Skill) of the participants to meet industry demands, reduce unemployment issues, and push workers into the new economy and industrial sectors, as well as prepare the current workforce for future challenges.
