On November 5, 2024, Asst. Prof. Dr. Thanapon Noraset, Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs, together with Dr. Assadarat Khurat, Assistant Dean for Risk Management and Cybersecurity at the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), represented the Dean in attending the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony and the launch of a master’s degree program focused on advancing education in technology. This program represents a collaborative effort among Mahidol University, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Thammasat University, and KBTG Kampus.
During the ceremony, Prof. Piyamitr Sritara, MD, FRCP, FACP, President of Mahidol University; Mr. Ruangroj Poonpol, Chairman of KASIKORN Business-Technology Group (KBTG); Prof. Dr. Supasawad Chardchawarn, President of Thammasat University; and Assoc. Prof. Komsan Maleesee, President of King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, signed the MoU at the K+ Building in Bangkok.
The purpose of this MoU is to address educational challenges in technology in Thailand by bridging the gap between the industry and academia. The initiative aims to elevate the tech education system in Thailand and support the national IT industry by fostering new tech talent and enhancing a complete ecosystem for tech education. The programs emphasize the integration of applied research into practical master’s degree courses (Co-Master’s Degree) that can be applied within the current and future industry, particularly in areas critical to technological advancement, such as science, artificial intelligence, innovation, and security.
The following master’s programs are part of this initiative:
- Master of Science Program in Cyber Security and Information Assurance offered by the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University
- Master of Science Program in Artificial Intelligence for Business Analytics offered by the School of Information Technology, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang
- Master of Arts and Science Program in Interdisciplinary Studies (MAS) offered by the College of Interdisciplinary Studies, Thammasat University (CISTU)
