On March 16, 2024 – the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vasaka Visoottiviseth, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Boonsit Yimwadsana, the instructors of the course “ITCS323 Computer Data Communication,” along with Asst. Prof. Dr. Thitinan Tantidham, Instructor of the Computer Science Group, organized a special talk on “Furukawa Cabling System” for the 2nd year students of B.Sc. in Information and Communication Technology (ICT International Program). On this occasion, Mr. Pornthep Suwanlertlum, and Mr. Vasin Assavanichakorn (Senior Manager, Sales & Marketing Department), as well as Mr. Eakarach Cheycheun and Ms. Kanokwan Chantalikit (Technical & Engineering Support) from Furukawa Electric Communications Southeast Asia Ltd., served as guest speakers in Rooms IT103 and IT 104 at the Faculty of ICT, Mahidol University, Salaya.
During the session, the speakers shared their knowledge on network systems, standard specifications for signal cables (UTP, cabling selection), and fiber optic selection for both single-mode and multi-mode usage with all students. Furthermore, a workshop on UTP installation and optical fiber fusion splicing was also held.
