ICT Mahidol welcomed delegates from Macquarie University, Commonwealth of Australia, for academic collaboration and special talk on “MUICT x Macquarie University: Exploring World’s Research Frontiers in Intelligent Autonomous Systems”

On December 9, 2024, the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), led Asst. Prof. Dr. Thanwadee Sunetnanta, Asst. Prof. Dr. Chaiyong Ragkhitwetsagul, and Dr. Pattaraporn Sangaroonsilp, Instructors of the Computer Science Group and Software Engineering and Business Analytics Research Clusters (SEBA), welcomed a delegation from Macquarie University, Commonwealth of Australia. The delegation visited ICT Mahidol to discuss research collaboration in Software Engineering and was hosted in Room A1, ICT Building, Salaya.

The Macquarie University delegates included:

  • Dr. James Xi Zheng, Director of Intelligent Systems Research Group / Director of International Engagement, Senior Lecturer in Software Engineering, School of Computing
  • Dr. Yuankai Qi, Lecturer in Artificial Intelligence (AI), School of Computing

The morning session included a discussion on professional training opportunities for students at the School of Computing, Macquarie University, attended by Dr. Petch Sajjacholapunt, Deputy Dean for Administration and Human Resource, Asst. Prof. Dr. Thanapon Noraset, Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Tipajin Thaipisutikul, Assistant Dean for Academic Services and Technology Transfer, Dr. Siripen Pongpaichet, Assistant Dean for Information and Systems, together with Asst. Prof. Dr. Charnyote Pluempitiwiriyawej, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Piyanuch Silapachote, Instructors of Computer Science Group.

In the afternoon, a special lecture titled “MUICT x Macquarie University: Exploring World’s Research Frontiers in Intelligent Autonomous Systems” was held in Room A2. On this occasion, Asst. Prof. Dr. Chaiyong Ragkhitwetsagul delivered the opening remarks. The lecture aimed to provide insights into the research conducted by visiting scholars from Macquarie University for Mahidol University faculty members, students, and other interested attendees. The topics included:

  • “Testing Learning Enabled Cyber-Physical Systems: Current Approaches and Future Directions” by Dr. James Xi Zheng
  • “Vision-and-Language Navigation for Embodied AI” by Dr. Yuankai Qi
  • “Trusting the Unknown – The Art of Trust Management in the Internet of Vehicles” by Dr. Adnan Mahmood via Webex Meetings

Furthermore, Dr. James Xi Zheng, and Dr. Yuankai Qi met with Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, Dean of the Faculty of ICT, at the Dean’s Office to discuss potential future collaborations between the two institutions.
