On September 7–8, 2024, the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), held the “Mahidol Open House 2024” under the theme “Empowering the Next Generation.” The event provided an opportunity for students, high school teachers, and parents to learn more about Mahidol University, explore its faculties, and interact with current students. With the theme Empowering the Next Generation, Mahidol University aimed to help the younger generation discover their potential, preparing them to become changemakers and drive sustainability in society. On this occasion, Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, the Dean of the Faculty, welcomed and encouraged the student team organizing the MUICT Open House 2024 and wished them success at IT204, 2nd floor, ICT Mahidol, Salaya.
The opening ceremony of the Mahidol Open House 2024, held on September 7, 2024, was presided over by Prof. Piyamitr Sritara, MD, FRCP, FACP, Acting President of Mahidol University. He launched the event with the game “Empowering the Next Generation,” which was developed based on the work “Forest Guardians” by a team of third-year undergraduate students from the ICT International Program, ICT Mahidol. The project won an honorable mention at the 26th National Software Contest (NSC 2024). The student team included Mr. Natchapol Mingmahaphan, Mr. Anavinn Rujithanyapat, and Miss Sakhunich Iamcharas. University executives also attended the ceremony at the Sirividhaya Building, Faculty of Liberal Arts, Mahidol University.
The activities at the ICT Mahidol were divided into three zones, as follows:
- Registration: Information about the event, with recreational activities and a music performance by ICT students at the Innovative Space, 1st floor
- Program Recommendations: Guidance on undergraduate programs: B.Sc. in Information and Communication Technology (ICT International Program), B.Sc. in Digital Science and Technology (DST Thai Program), as well as graduate programs: M.Sc. in Computer Science, M.Sc. in Game Technology and Gamification, and M.Sc. in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance. The session also covered short-term exchange opportunities in countries like Japan, Taiwan, and Germany for ICT students, and domestic IT internships for DST students at the Bits & Bytes Hall, 4th floor
- Senior Project & ICT Club: Exhibitions of ICT clubs such as the Cyber Club, IoT Club, and Developer Club, as well as displays of Senior Projects and student research at the Grand Auditorium Hall, 4th floor
Moreover, the Faculty of ICT set up an information booth to promote the B.Sc. programs in ICT and DST at the Sirividhaya Building, Faculty of Liberal Arts, Mahidol University. During the event, Dr. Pisit Praiwattana, Assistant Dean for Organizational Communications and Media Technology, delivered a presentation on the undergraduate programs, including the admission criteria for the 2025 academic year, to prospective students and their parents in rooms 217–219.
Throughout the two-day event, over 4,000 participants attended. The Faculty of ICT extends its sincere gratitude to the parents, students, and visitors who showed interest in the programs and activities.
