ICT Mahidol organized “Dhamma Listening on the Occasion of Asalha Puja and Buddhist Lent Day: Work Efficiently, Live Happily with Dharma Itthibath and Kihisuk”

On July 16, 2024, the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), led by the Preserving Arts and Culture Working Group, organized the “Dhamma Listening on the Occasion of Asalha Puja and Buddhist Lent Day: Work Efficiently, Live Happily with Dharma Itthibath and Kihisuk.” The session was conducted by Phra Maha Wisut Wisutthipanyo, Vice-Abbot of Kanchanaburi Royal Monastery and a 9th-grade Buddhist Theology achiever from Thewa Sangkharam Temple, and Caretaker of the Monk’s Health Center in the 19th Supreme Patriarch (Wang Dong Hospital). Many faculty members and staff attended the session through Webex Meetings.

After the Dhamma listening session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jarernsri Mitrpanont, Advisor to the Dean, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Sukanya Phongsuphap, Deputy Dean for Strategy and Quality Assurance, presided over the “Pha Pah Samaggi Ceremony (Community Robe Offering Ceremony)” at the Buddha Room, 2nd floor, ICT Building, Salaya. The objective of this ceremony was to offer funds to Phra Maha Wisut Wisutthipanyo (Chairman of the Sangha) for the installation of a solar cell system at the Monk’s Health Center in the 19th Supreme Patriarch (Wang Dong Hospital).

The event “Dhamma Listening on the Occasion of Asalha Puja and Buddhist Lent Day: Work Efficiently, Live Happily with Dharma Itthibath and Kihisuk” is part of a series of activities aimed at promoting Buddhism and preserving cultural traditions. Its goal is for faculty members and staff to integrate the insights from the Dhamma lecture into their lives, aligning with Buddhist principles, and to uphold the rich cultural traditions on significant Buddhist occasions.
