On January 9, 2025, Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, Dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), delivered a welcoming speech and inaugurated the training session on “Fundamentals of Cybersecurity, AI, and Future Applications.” This session was part of the “Advanced Police Administration Program, Class 57,” organized by the Police Education Bureau, Royal Thai Police Academy.
The event featured guest speakers, including Asst. Prof. Dr. Thanapon Noraset, Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs; Dr. Assadarat Khurat, Assistant Dean for Risk Management and Cybersecurity; Dr. Ittipon Rassameeroj, Assistant Dean for Infrastructure and Technology; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vasaka Visoottiviseth, Program Chair of the Master of Science in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance. They provided valuable insights to 93 participants, comprising police officers, government officials, and state enterprise employees.
Additionally, a special lecture titled “Global Threats to the World and Key Issues to Watch” was delivered by Assoc. Prof. Pol.Maj.Gen.Dr. Kitthanatat Lerwongrat of the Police Education Bureau, Royal Thai Police.
The training aimed to provide participants with knowledge of cybersecurity and AI applications. Faculty members from ICT Mahidol shared insights on various topics, including:
- “Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI)” by Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, covering the basics of AI.
- “AI and AI Projects” by Asst. Prof. Dr. Thanapon Noraset, discussing AI technology, machine learning, deep learning, and the integration of AI with cybersecurity.
- “Reconsidering Cybersecurity, Trends, and Research Topics” by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vasaka Visoottiviseth, addressing trends in cybercrime, modern social engineering attacks, and the use of AI in cybersecurity.
- “Cloud Security” by Dr. Ittipon Rassameeroj, explaining cloud infrastructure and measures to prevent data breaches from cyberattacks.
- “Information Security Management” by Dr. Assadarat Khurat, focusing on managing and protecting critical organizational data from internal and external threats.
The training emphasized the importance of integrating AI and cybersecurity knowledge to enhance participants’ understanding and applications in their respective fields.
