On January 24, 2025, the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), hosted the academic seminar “AI Governance in Next Frontier under the Worldwide Universities Network (WUN) Research Project.” The event was part of a research initiative by the Worldwide Universities Network (WUN) and featured esteemed speakers, including Mr. Maciej Surowiec, Head of ASEAN Government Affairs at Microsoft, and Dr. Komes Chandavimol, Principal Research Engineer, KASIKORN Business-Technology Group (KBTG). The speakers shared insights on AI governance and the development of policies for artificial intelligence (AI), focusing on responsible, transparent, and fair AI development and usage. These efforts aim to build public trust and confidence while promoting sustainable and innovative AI advancements. On this occasion, Dr. Sak Segkhoonthod, Senior Advisor, Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA), served as the event moderator. The seminar was attended by 47 participants online via Zoom.
The seminar aimed to provide knowledge and prepare participants to adapt to a rapidly evolving, AI-driven world. It addressed topics such as upskilling, promoting digital learning, and fostering resilient economic and social systems to meet the challenges of future transformations.
