On January 8, 2025, the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), in collaboration with the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies and the Institute for Technology and Innovation Management (iNT), Mahidol University, organized the “Open Day MUICT & MUEN HACKATHON 2025,” which marked the opening ceremony of the MUICT & ENVI Mahidol Hackathon 2025 under the theme “Innovation for Carbon Neutrality Society.”
On this occasion, Dr. Pawitra Liamruk, Deputy Dean for Organizational Development and Special Affairs, represented the Dean of the Faculty of ICT, along with Asst. Prof. Dr. Monthira Yuttitham, Deputy Dean for Policy, Planning, and Finance, Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Panon Latcharote, Instructor of Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, welcomed the students participating in the competition and officially opened the event at the Bits & Bytes Hall, 4th floor, ICT Building, Salaya.
Following the opening, an introduction to the background and significance of the MUICT & ENVI Mahidol Hackathon 2025 competition was presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Thanapon Noraset, Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs, ICT Mahidol, along with Asst. Prof. Dr. Allan Sriratana Tabucanon, Deputy Dean for Education and International Relations, Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, and Mr. Sawangpong Muadphet, Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Komomi Co., Ltd., a sponsor of the event. They discussed the goals and inspiration behind organizing this competition. After the introduction, students participated in an Ice Breaking activity to stimulate creativity while fostering friendship and teamwork through brainstorming sessions to develop innovations addressing environmental sustainability.
The event concluded with a summary by Asst. Prof. Dr. Tipajin Thaipisutikul, Assistant Dean for Academic Services and Technology Transfer, who shared experiences and thanked the students for participating the event.
The MUICT & ENVI Mahidol Hackathon 2025 competition, under the theme “Innovation for Carbon Neutrality Society,” was organized with the aim of providing Mahidol University undergraduate students an opportunity to participate in a competition focused on learning and developing skills in algorithm problem-solving and programming. The Hackathon highlighted the importance of utilizing information technology to improve the environment, with the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, absorbing them, and transitioning society toward a carbon-neutral future.
