On November 5, 2024, Dr. Pisit Praiwattana, Assistant Dean for Organizational Communications and Media Technology, the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), warmly welcomed representatives from the “ASEAN SDGs Youth Camp: Leveraging Digital Innovation for the SDGs” during their visit to ICT Mahidol. The delegation toured various educational facilities, including the Mahidol-Bremen Medical Informatics Research Unit (MIRU Lab), where Prof. Dr. Peter Haddawy, Global Talent, Professor, along with Dr. Myat Su Yin, Senior Researcher, and Mr. Thanin Rabiabpho, a Ph.D. Student in Computer Science, introduced ongoing collaborative research projects with the University of Bremen, Germany.
Additionally, the visit also included a tour of the IoT Lab, guided by Mr. Nattachart Tamkittikhun, a Ph.D. student in Computer Science. Following that, the delegation explored the Smart Classroom and the IT105 Computer Lab on the 1st floor.
In conjunction with the visit, Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, Dean of the Faculty of ICT, delivered a special lecture on “Digital Innovation for Healthcare Delivery/Healthcare Informatics.” He also participated in a panel discussion on “Digital Innovation in Health and Well-being” alongside representatives from government and private sectors. The session, moderated by Asst. Prof. Dr. Tipajin Thaipisutikul, Assistant Dean for Academic Services and Technology Transfer, took place at the Prachasangkom Udompathana Room, 1st floor, Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University, Salaya.
The ASEAN SDGs Youth Camp, running from November 4 to 8, 2024, is a collaborative initiative by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ASEAN Centre for Sustainable Development Studies and Dialogue (ACSDSD), and Mahidol University. This camp brings together youth aged 25-35 from the 10 ASEAN member countries, Timor-Leste, and Japan, aiming to enhance understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The program focuses on empowering youth as leaders of sustainable change under the global framework of the 17 SDGs, targeting a better world by 2030. It also aims to develop digital technology skills for sustainable societal development.
