From September 24 to 26, 2024, the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), took part in showcasing the academic and innovative work of the faculty at the “TRIUP FAIR 2024: Annual Fair Promoting the Utilization of Research and Innovation.” The event was organized by the Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI), in collaboration with the Federation of Thai Industries, the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Board of Trade of Thailand, nine Program Management Units (PMUs), and various partners within the Science, Research, and Innovation, held at Royal Paragon Hall, 5th floor, Siam Paragon.
On this occasion, Lect. Pagaporn Pengsart, Deputy Dean for Infrastructure and Technology, along with staff and students from the ICT Mahidol, participated in the Innovation Showcase zone, focusing on the medical and healthcare theme, in line with the government’s health economy and medical service development policy. The showcased work included the “Automated Framework for AI Federated Learning in Medical Imaging,” a research and innovation project in AI and medicine. This project utilizes chest X-ray images and diagnostic data from various medical institutions to train deep-learning AI models without sharing medical image data between institutions. This allows the central AI model to be trained on a diverse dataset, resulting in high capability and accuracy. The outcomes can be used to create a central system that supports medical institutions without AI systems.
The “TRIUP FAIR 2024” is a major fair aimed at promoting the application of research and innovation under the theme “Impact Journey to Ignite Thailand: Driving Research and Innovation to Enhance the Country’s Economy and Society.” It aims to boost industrial capacity, generate income, and enhance the country’s economic stability. The event featured exhibitions across different zones, including the Business Matching Zone, a space for networking and business matchmaking between private sector companies and researchers. The RU Ecosystem Zone provided consultation services to help resolve challenges or reduce obstacles in utilizing research and innovation. Lastly, the Innovation Showcase Zone presented more than 150 ready-to-use research and innovation projects under themes such as Medicine and Health, High-Value Agriculture and Food, Net Zero Emissions & PM2.5, and Appropriate Technology.
