ICT Mahidol Dean participated in the “Mahidol AI Day” event and witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the development and application of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

On September 21, 2024, Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, Dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), attended the “Mahidol AI Day” event organized by the Institute for Technology and Innovation Management (iNT), Mahidol University. The event aimed to promote learning and innovation in Artificial Intelligence (AI), with the goal of becoming a center for AI technology learning and development. This was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the development and application of AI to benefit organizations and the country.

On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Yodchanan Wongsawat, Acting Vice President for Research of Mahidol University and Acting Director of the iNT, joined Ms. Panchalee Weeratammawat, Chief People Officer of Central Retail Corporation Public Company Limited; Dr. Thepchai Supnithi, Vice President and Acting President of the Artificial Intelligence Association of Thailand; and Mr. Thanapong Boontaeng, Head of SCB 10X Lab, SCB 10X Company Limited, in signing the MoU. The event was also witnessed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cherdchai Nopmaneejumruslers, Acting Vice President for Information Technology and Digital Transformation; Asst. Prof. Dr. Thatchavee Leelawat, Acting Vice President for Kanchanaburi Campus; and faculty members from various faculties and institutes within Mahidol University. The event took place at the MaSHARES Co-working Space, MB Building, Mahidol University, Salaya.

The event featured knowledge-sharing session and discussion on “How Organizations Can Apply AI in Their Work.” A panel discussion titled “Creating AI Research to Meet User Needs and Enhance National Capabilities” was also held, where Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, Dean of ICT Mahidol, served as a panel speaker, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Tipajin Thaipisutikul, Assistant Dean for Academic Services and Technology Transfer at ICT Mahidol, acted as the event moderator. The event concluded with a brainstorming session to outline strategies for sustainable operations. Additionally, research and innovation exhibition booths showcasing AI developments from various organizations were on display.

The “Mahidol AI Day” was organized to promote and encourage the learning, development, and application of AI technology across various fields, particularly among students, faculty members, researchers, staff, and AI enthusiasts. The event aims to position Mahidol University as a central hub for AI technology and innovation, fostering opportunities for knowledge and experience exchange with experts, and enhancing Thailand’s competitiveness in the digital age.
