On 7 September 2022 – the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vasaka Visoottiviseth, Asst. Prof. Dr. Thanwadee Sunetnanta, Asst. Prof. Dr. Apirak Hoonlor, Dr. Chaiyong Ragkhitwetsagul, and Dr. Morakot Choetkiertikul, ICT Mahidol instructors, together with Sub Lt. Gonatee Klanktong, a Ph.D. student of Computer Science Program, Miss Tasha Settewong, and Mr. Thanakrit Maneesawas, undergraduate students of ICT International Program, welcomed delegates from Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST), Japan: Professor Jun Ohta, Executive Director/Vice President for Research and International Affairs, Professor Kenichi Matsumoto, NAIST Thailand Office Director, Professor Minoru Okada, Division of Information Science, Mr. Tadashi Nakano, Deputy Head, International Affairs Division, Mr. Yosuke Kojima, Section Chief, Research Promotion Section, as well as Ms. Pattaraporn Tulathum, a Ph.D. student at NAIST, on the occasion of their visit for research exchange at Room IT404, 4th floor, ICT Building, Salaya Campus.
During the meeting, there was a research seminar where instructors and students from ICT Mahidol and NAIST presented 5 research works as follows:
- “SE4DS: Software Engineering for Data Science” by Asst. Prof. Dr. Apirak Hoonlor
- “Automated Software Engineering for Thailand Software Industry” by Dr. Chaiyong Ragkhitwetsagul
- “A Preliminary Study on the Review of SATD Detection Techniques” by Sub Lt. Gonatee Klanktong, a Ph.D. student of Computer Science Program
- “Design of Robot Programming Tools in Human-Robot Interaction System for End-users” by Ms. Pattaraporn Tulathum, a Ph.D. student at NAIST
- “Why Visualize Competitive Code? Preliminary Categories for Jupyter Notebooks” by Miss Tasha Settewong, 4th year ICT International Program (Software Engineering Track) student who received a research scholarship in Software Engineering at Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST), Japan.
Following the research seminar, representatives from ICT Mahidol led all delegates to the Mahidol-AIST Research Unit (MARU), where Dr. Wudhichart Sawangphol, Assistant Dean, and
Dr. Jidapa Kraisangka, Assistant Dean of the Research Development, gave welcome speeches and introduced the MARU. Respectively, there was a visit to the MU AI Center, where Lect. Pagaporn Pengsart, Deputy Dean for Engineering and Systems, shared information about modern and high-performance AI tools. Furthermore, a Smart Classroom of ICT Mahidol was also shown to all delegates. Finally, they were given a tour of the Salaya Campus.
