On 27 December 2022 – the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), organized “Tribute-Paying to Holy Spirits and Merit-Making Ceremony on the Occasion of New Year 2023”. In the morning, Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, the Dean, led executives, instructors, and staff to pay homage to holy places at the Faculty of ICT and around Mahidol University including, Chao Por Khuntoong Shrine, Phra Buddha Mahidol Mongkon Panyayarn, and Monument of Prince Mahidol Adulyadej Memorial Statue. In addition, the Dean also delivered New Year Wishes to all instructors, and staff at the Innovative Space, Faculty of ICT, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.
Following that, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sukanya Phongsuphap, Deputy Dean for Strategy and Quality Assurance, presided over the Buddhist Ceremonies to lit incense and candles to worship the Triple Gems. The Buddhist ceremony also included offering a meal and dried food to 9 monks from Wat Suwannaram, and receiving blessings from the monks at the Innovative Space.
The “Homage-Paying to Holy Places and Merit-Making Ceremony on the Occasion of New Year 2023” is part of activities to promote Buddhism and to preserve Thai arts and culture. The goal was to provide all faculty and staff with the opportunity to make merit in order to welcome good things and prosperity into their lives on the upcoming new year.
