On December 22, 2023, the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology at Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol) organized the “Homage-Paying to Holy Places, Merit-Making Ceremony, and New Year Celebration on the Occasion of New Year 2024.” In the morning, Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, the Dean, led executives, instructors, and staff to pay homage to holy places at the Faculty of ICT and around Mahidol University, including Chao Por Khuntoong Shrine, Phra Buddha Mahidol Mongkon Panyayarn, and the Monument of Prince Mahidol Adulyadej Memorial Statue. Following that, Buddhist ceremonies included offering a meal and dried food to nine monks from Wat Suwannaram and receiving blessings from the monks at the Innovative Space, Faculty of ICT, Mahidol University, Salaya.
The Faculty of ICT also organized the “ICT New Year Party 2024” for its faculty members and staff. On this occasion, Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, the Dean, delivered an opening speech. Dr. Pisit Praiwattana, Assistant Dean for Organizational Communications and Media Technology, and Dr. Tipajin Thaipisutikul, Assistant Dean for Academic Services and Technology Transfer, served as the MCs for the event. During the event, various activities took place, including stage performances from new employees, a custom contest under the theme ‘Dream Career,’ a lucky draw, and a lunch party and the activities from Happiness-Enhancing Team. The event was held at the Innovative Space, Faculty of ICT, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.
The “Homage-Paying to Holy Places and Merit-Making Ceremony on the Occasion of New Year 2024” is part of activities to promote Buddhism and preserve Thai arts and culture. The goal was to provide all faculty and staff with the opportunity to make merit to welcome good things and prosperity into their lives in the upcoming new year.
