On 24 September 2021 – Dr. Pawitra Liamruk, Deputy Dean for Academic Administration and Acting Deputy Dean for Organizational Communication and Engagement, together with Mr. Kanitpat Srinuntakul, Head of the Office of the Dean, as representatives of Dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), paid respect and laid a wreath to His Royal Highness Prince Mahitala Dhibesra Adulyadej Vikrom, the Prince Father, on the occasion of Mahidol Day at Mahidol Learning Center, Mahidol University, Salaya campus. In addition, the Faculty of ICT also sent a wreath to the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, where the executives and medical students as representatives laid it to the Monument of the Prince Father at Siriraj Hospital.
The date September 24th of every year was designated as “Prince Mahidol Day” in commemoration of the passing of His Royal Highness Prince Mahitala Dhibesra Adulyadej Vikrom, the father of modern medicine and public health in Thailand. This day commemorates his contributions to the development of medical education in Thailand and his selfless devotion to the well-being of Thai people. He also founded the House of Mahidol, the present Royal Family of Thailand. In addition, Prince Mahidol established Siriraj School of Medicine as well as strengthened the solidarity of medical schools in Thailand. He also developed the effectiveness of teaching and learning in Thailand.
