On 28 September 2022 – the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), together with its collaborative partners under the project “Center of Excellence in AI-Based Medical Diagnosis (AI-MD)”, organized Mahidol AI Talk #1 for instructors, students and staff of Mahidol University. At the beginning of the event, Lect. Pagaporn Pengsart, Deputy Dean for Engineering and Systems, gave a warm welcome speech and then Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, ICT Mahidol Dean, delivered an opening speech to all participants at Room AI2, ICT Building, Salaya Campus, as well as online via Webex Meetings.
On this occasion, Asst. Prof. Dr. Bhoom Suktitipat, Instructor at Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital and Working Group of Integrative Computational BioScience Center (ICBS), served as keynote speaker who shared their knowledge on “AI for Genomics & Precision Medicine”. In addition, Dr. Dumrong Mairiang, Researcher at National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC), National Science and Technology Development Agency, as well as Siriraj Center of Research Excellence in Dengue and Emerging Pathogens/Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever Research, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, gave a special talk on “AI-Assisted Diagnosis for Prostate Biopsy”.
At the end of the event, all participants had the opportunity to ask questions and exchange knowledge on Artificial Intelligence in a Q&A session with Lect. Pagaporn Pengsart, Deputy Dean for Engineering and Systems, ICT Mahidol, along with Dr. Piroon Jenjaroenpun and Dr. Kwanrutai Mairiang, Medical Bioinformatics Specialists, Bioinformatics and Data Management for Research Unit, Research Group and Research Network Division, Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital.
The “Mahidol AI Talk Series” seminar was a collaboration project between Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol) and collaborative partners under the project “Center of Excellence in AI-Based Medical Diagnosis (AI-MD),” which is supported by the Reinventing University System. The seminar is scheduled to be held every two months starting from September 2022 – September 2023.
