On October 28, 2023 – the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Thitinan Tantidham, the instructor of the course “ITDS232 Computer Network Lab,” organized a special talk on “Furukawa Cabling System” for the 2nd year students enrolled in B.Sc. in Digital Science and Technology (DST Thai Program). On this occasion, Mr. Eakarach Cheycheun, Technical & Engineering Support, Mr. Pornthep Suwanlertlum, Senior Manager, Sales & Marketing Department, Ms. Kanokwan Chantalikit, Technical & Engineering Support, Mr. Vasin Assavanichakorn and Ms. Pavida Tangkanaruxkul, Sales Engineer, Sales & Marketing Department from Furukawa Electric Communications Southeast Asia Ltd., served as guest speakers in Room IT106 at the Faculty of ICT, Mahidol University, Salaya.
During the session, the speakers shared their knowledge on network systems, standard specifications for signal cables (UTP, cabling selection), and fiber optic selection for both single-mode and multi-mode usage with all students. Furthermore, a workshop on UTP installation and optical fiber fusion splicing was also held.
