On 17 September 2020, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Worapan Kusakunniran, an instructor from the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), gave an interview on the “Research Impact”, Mahidol Channel, about his research “Computer program for Classifying Categories of Thai Rice – Grain Images Using Mark R – CNN and Transfer Learning”, at MVIT Lab, 2nd Floor, ICT Building, Salaya campus.
This research proposed a framework to develop a data model that can classify and localize each rice grain in an input image. The framework is mostly an iterative process which consists of data acquisition, data preparation, data modelling, and model evaluation. Then, an application will visualize the classification result. This research was also published online, and has received a lot of attention from the agriculture sector.
