Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat
Dean of Faculty of ICT, Mahidol University
“Our ICT Faculty has to be ONE. Students are the keys to contribute to our society and country with the knowledge and capabilities they’ve acquired”.
This is one of my main intentions that will be used to lead our organization towards future success.
First of all, I would like to thank the Faculty’s former Dean, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jarernsri L. Mitrpanont, for the guidance and support she has continuously given to our faculty throughout the past decade. I would also especially like to thank all the instructors, students, and staff, who have dedicated their competencies and efforts to accomplish our faculty’s missions. This has helped us to become the strong Faculty of ICT that it is today. I feel very impressed.
In February 2019, our Bachelor of Science Program in Information and Communication Technology achieved Level 6 out of 7 accreditation from the ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) 136th educational quality assessment. This level represents the “Example of Best Practices” level. We are the only international program at Mahidol University to be assessed at this level, which signifies that our program has reached the ASEAN standard with efficient educational management.
We achieve this level, in part, through our productive student-centered learning program, where we consistently aim to produce well-qualified graduates to respond to the current job markets in various ICT fields, including Computer Science, Computer Networks, Database and Intelligent Systems, Software Engineering, E-Business Systems, Multimedia Systems, Management Information Systems, and Health Information Technology. We constantly endeavor to develop and enhance our curriculum to be updated with the latest technologies in order to maintain our faculty’s international recognition and strengthen our abilities to compete globally.
We will continue to look toward the future of our faculty creatively. We will efficiently pursue the faculty’s missions with full responsibility and integrity, including bringing benefits to society, providing a lively learning environment, listening to new ideas, and creating technological innovations. We will unify our faculty in order to move towards future success through fruitful and successful collaborations among our faculty and staff members, students, and all our stakeholders.
Lastly, our faculty will move forward into the next decade as ONE ICT by reflecting on the past decade and using its lessons to create a bright and promising future. We are ONE ICT.
