On June, 26 2023 – the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), organized an ICT training on “Security Awareness: How to Safely Use Social Network” for approximately 800 students of Assumption Convent Silom School via Zoom Meeting. On this occasion, Lect. Pagaporn Pengsart, Deputy Dean for Infrastructure and Technology, as well as Asst. Prof. Dr. Charnyote Pluempitiwiriyawej, ICT Mahidol instructor, served as the keynote speakers for grades 3 – 6 students.
The “Security Awareness: How to Safely Use Social Network” training was one of the activities under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between ICT Mahidol and Assumption Convent Silom School, with the goal of teaching all students how to use social media safely in their daily lives. Threats to children on social media are issues that should not be overlooked because they have negative physical and mental effects on children. Furthermore, uninformed use of social media of children can lead to deception, misdirection, and bullying (Cyberbullying).
