The Faculty of Information and Communication Technology would like to congratulate Team DisruptiveTech consisting of Chansida Makaranond, a fourth-year student at the Faculty of ICT, Mahidol, and her partner Natchanon Ungudomsin, a student at Penn State University in the USA, on becoming one of the 10 worldwide finalists in the Make Reality Challenge 2021, sponsored by the Project Management Institute (PMI).
Their project RecyclingNation aims to revolutionize the waste management industries in developing and newly developed countries by providing the necessary IT infrastructure to facilitate an effective waste management program.
DisruptiveTech wants to promote city waste management and resource recycling by establishing an app that connects people in the society with recycling programs around them and encouraging a recycling-oriented society so that people can get the most out of the trash and make recycling a part of people’s everyday routines.
The PMI Make Realty Challenge 2021 is a global initiative from PMI to connect with university students who will become future project management professionals through a practical, fun, and collaborative learning experience. The Theme of the Make Reality challenge is “Disruption for Social Impact”.
