On June 19, 2023 – the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), led by Dr. Tipajin Thaipisutikul, Assistant Dean for Academic Services and Technology Transfer, and Dr. Songpon Teerakanok, Instructor of Computer Science group specializing in the Cybersecurity curriculum, visited Ms. Chatuporn Sawatruksa, Deputy Director of Academic Affairs, Mahidol Wittayanusorn School (MWIT), along with teachers from the Mathematics and Computer Science Department, as well as the Technology and Digital Innovation Management Department, at the B Conference Room, 3rd floor, MWIT. The objective of this visit was to discuss potential academic collaborations between the two institutions.
During this occasion, Dr. Tipajin Thaipisutikul presented various forms of collaboration, such as ICT training programs being organized monthly by the Academic Services and Technology Transfer Department, the possibility of organizing activities where ICT Mahidol instructors serve as guest speakers for the school, as well as organizing the MUICT-MWIT School Camping event, where the topics, content or activities can be adapted according to the school’s needs and preferences. In addition, the two parties also discussed conducting “Reskill/Upskill Trainings” for teachers and students of the school on topics requested by the school, such as AI, Bioinformatics, Medical Informatics, Cybersecurity, and Research Methodology.
Furthermore, Dr. Songpon Teerakanok delivered a lecture on the topic of Cybersecurity, specifically “Exploring the Exciting World of Cybersecurity,” to approximately 100 students in grades 10 – 12. The lecture content focused on Cybersecurity Threats & Landscape, Defensive vs Offensive Security, What is Ethical Hacking?, Security & Privacy, and Jumping on board: Cybersecurity Career Path.
