On 29 November 2022 – the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), led by Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, the Dean, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vasaka Visoottiviseth, Instructor, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Worapan Kusakunniran, Instructor and Head of Machine Vision and Information Transfer Lab (MVIT), Asst. Prof. Dr. Mores Prachyabrued, instructor, Miss Punyanuch Borwarnginn, Ph.D. student of Computer Science Program, Mr. Kittikhun Thongkanchorn, Computer Technical Officer (Senior Professional Level), Management of Computer System Unit, welcomed Dr. Jason Haga, Chief Senior Research Scientist from National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), Japan during his visit for a research collaboration meeting, at Room AI1, MU AI Center, ICT Building, Salaya Campus.
On this occasion, ICT Mahidol representatives introduced the 3 students who have been accepted to join the internship program under the topic “AI on IoT Device for Visual Assistance” at AIST, Japan, during 11 January – 17 March 2023, namely:
- Miss Natchaya Thongpakdee, 4th year student in Database and Intelligent Systems Track
- Nattapon Lertkijroongreung, 4th year student in Software Engineering Track
- Kanisorn Sa-nguansook, 4th year student in Database and Intelligent Systems Track
Furthermore, Mr. Kontawat Wisetpaitoon, 3rd year student in Computer Science Track, ICT International Program, reported to Dr. Jason Haga and ICT Mahidol representatives the progress of his research project titled “Predicting River Water Height Using Deep Learning-based Features.” This project has been carried out during his internship program at AIST, Japan in Academic Year 2022.
Following the academic collaboration meeting and research presentation, the ICT Mahidol representatives led Dr. Jason Haga, Chief Senior Research Scientist, to visit the Mahidol-AIST Research Unit (MARU), Mahidol-Bremen Medical Informatics Research Unit (MIRU), and Machine Vision and Information Transfer Lab (MVIT).
The Faculty of ICT, Mahidol University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Digital Architecture Research Center (DigiARC), National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), Japan, with the aim to promote the scientific academic and research cooperation, as well as to encourage the exchange of academic and administrative staff and students between both parties.
