On 8 July 2022 – the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), organized the “2022 Basic Fire Fighting Training” for 97 staff and students at Innovative Space, and the front of the ICT Building, Salaya campus. At the beginning of the activity, Lect. Snit Sanghlao, Assistant Dean of Engineering and Infrastructure and Head of the Occupational Safety, Health and Environment Working Group, addressed a warm welcome speech to all participants at the Innovative Space.
On this occasion, Mr. Piyawat Phutthapatimoke, Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Specialist of Yai Cha Sub-district Administrative Organization, Sampran District, Nakhon Pathom Province and the team, served as guest speakers. Theoretical training was held in the morning, with the guest speakers sharing knowledge on theory of fire, fire classification, fire extinguishing methods, fighting fire with psychology, prevention of ignition, types of fire extinguishers, fire protection and suppression systems, application of existing systems, and first aid for burn injuries. In the afternoon, there were also operations trainings on first aid, using an automated external defibrillator (AED), and fire drills.
The “2022 Basic Fire Fighting Training” was one of the annual activities of the Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment Working Group, with the goal of educating staff and students about workplace safety, health, and environment, as well as practicing a fire emergency evacuation plan in the event of a fire.
